Logistics and Looks

So I’ve been somewhat busy. Around this business moving the product and designing it have been aptly time consuming but one is way more enjoyable than the other.

Not to say trying to figure out what box best fits 12 bags of coffee and how to make it work isn’t fun but then the pricing on shipping, which  logistics company to use, possibly brokers getting involved, gas taxes and tariffs. Woof- it adds up crunching the figures.

And regarding figures. While I really like the design, the bag could use some work. I find they balloon with the off-gassing which makes shipping tricky as it increases on height, which no mailing service likes, and the colour doesn’t photograph well despite being fairly matte (ahh the reflections really blind the camera!).

Still, and most importantly we don’t want the label to get damage when mailed, and with it being a sticker, that’s the ‘face’ of the brand.

So possibly back to the drawing board. For a slimmer bag and thus a sleeker design (hopefully!).

This part is fun, but the amount of iterations really gets up there (Also the amount of numbers trying to get the right ratio and alignments hahaha oh boy).

You can see a peak of the logo iterations in my  earlier posts.

I don’t want to let the cat-out-of-the-bag. Pun ‘in’ and ‘un’  intended.

Also from the analytics, it seems a few people do come for the blogs, so thanks!

Feel free to follow along on social media as well, I post the animations and doodles there, and if you want to, signup for the newsletter simply for the updates as to when there’s a new blog post!

You can also message me “phillip@kuroneko.cafe”, always happy to talk or if you have questions I can make blogposts on the topic.

Behind-the-scenes, more animations, ramblings and thoughts and much much more, on the way! I can’t wait to share! :D

All the Best!!!

Sincerely yours,

Kuro, Shiro and Phillip
